This paper is an integral part of a broader research that aims to reconstruct the artistic path of Ismail Kadare and to highlight the structural elements of the invented narrative world, renamed Ismailand by “Is my land”, to indicate its subjective and unmistakable connotations. The subject of the analysis is the intertextual network through which Kadare connects his works in a single diegetic framework, which acquires its own hermeneutic validity in support of the poor adherence to the practice of socialist realism in force in Albania during the years in which the author was writing.

I madh është privilegji i poetëve. Atyre u jepet të ëndërrojnë ëndrrat e njerëzimit, ëndrrat e një populli të tërë. Ismail Kadaresë i është dhënë privilegji të ëndërrojë ëndrrat e popullit shqiptar. Reinhard Kosellek, filozofi i madh i Begriffsgeschichte, i “histori- së së koncepteve” e bashkë me të edhe babai i “cultural history”, Peter Burke, kanë evokuar shpesh nevojën e një historie kulturore të ëndrrave si bazë për të kuptuar arsyet e thella të një kulture. Prej kohësh kjo histori e kulturës është zbatuar nga poetët të cilët përmes ëndrrave shkruajnë historinë e fshehtë të një populli e njëherazi të gjithë njerëzimit.

The analysis conducted in the essay illuminates its path and traces its influences in a comparative epistemological framework and in order to differentiate it from the so-called praxis of socialist realism.
